SM02 _ ADD _ MESSAGE

What is the use of this function ? I have heart it sends messages to users and it is controlled by a program.

What is the result of its execution ?

Hi,

The transaction SM02 can be used to send system wise message to the users.Normally basis uses this to inform users of the changes done to system etc.

The Function module also does the same thing of broadcasting the message to the users.

Hi,

Well I think this function module is used by the basis people...when they want to intimate to the users..some work is going on or the server will shut down for so on so time...for this they will give the inputs as server name..,client..and then the message what they want to display

HI,

message is trasmitted to all the user working

on server from where message is sent.

BASIS guys use the function to inform user about

system backup or shutdown.

example

if message is sent from server A all user logged in to server A will get message
