selection-screen language translation

Hi all,

I have a report which has the selection texts and list headings in English language. When I log in different language let us say Finnish(FI) I am not getting the selection texts and list headings. What should I do to get the Finnish selection texts and list headings at the selection screen when I log in Finnish langauge.

Log in in English language and go to se63 transaction and

do your translations for the selection texts and other texts.Then try logging in FI language.

Can you please tell me where exactly I can find this option in SE63. I looked at it and could not find it.

No need to goto SE63 ..Display the report..use menu Goto--Translation ..Select target language for translation.

This will lead to a translation screen. Select the element to be translated & press'Sequential Processing' for translation.

Here you will find all options for translation.

Translation of report involves translation of following elements

Column headers for the list

List header

Selection screen & its elements

Text symbols

Report title

Go to se63.

Chose from menu;

Translation->R/3 Enterprise->Short texts.

Chose < REPT > Text Elements from the list.

Give the program name in the screen following.

You can as well go to se38.

Choose the radio-button for text elements. Press Change button.

In the screen that follows, choose from menu:

go to->translation, give original language as EN and target language as FI and say enter.

Hi Yogesh and Joshi

I tried for the translations from SE38 itself. I went into the translation screen and gave one translation word for one selection text and saved it. I logged in Finnish langauge but I didnt get the translated word in the selection screen. May be I missed some step during the transaltion.

I would greatly appreciate if you can give me the steps to do this translation from SE38. I assure you full points for this help.

Hi Raju,

Stay in your program in SE38. Then in the menu bar

For List Heading:

GOTO-->TEXT ELEMENTS -> LIST HEADINGS

You will go the List Heading screens there Type your enlgish version.

Then again in MENU BAR

GOTO->TRANSLATION.

It will ask for langguage select Finnish language then enter the text in Finnish language.

save the text.

Do the same for the "selection text" also.

Please let me know if you need any thing else in detail.

Hi,

When you do the translation in SE38 for the finnish language, there will be button on the application tool bar to say confirm translation..

Press the button once the translation is done..

This might work..
