Search help

Hi!

I would like to create a search help from scratch with the following fileds in it , as this si the first time I am creating this kind help will be highly appreciated.

Fileds Data element

KUNNR KUNNR

PARNR PARNR

NAME AD_NAME1

FIRSTNAME AD_NAMEFIR

CITY1 AD_CITY1

STREET AD_STREET

MC_NAME AD_MC_NAME

MC_FIRSTNAME AD_MC_NMFI

Kindly help me out with suggestions to create this pleaase,

Before this link, check how to create "Elementary Search Help". Coz, Collective search help is the set of Elementary Search Helps.

How do i know which search help exit shld I be using , In my case I am using a clone of DEBIX search help with just 2 other extra fields added to it . I have copied directly debix onto my new search help and added street 4 and street 5 to that , but when I run the search help it shows me the new columns have been added in the output structure but no values are coming into it, what do I need to change in my new saerch help that the values come in, I did add the two extra fields to my search help and thats it , no where else did I make any change and also I am using the same FM what is theer in DEBIX, then why dose it not populate my structure in the output.

Hi,

To Create Search Help you need to follow these steps.

go to SE11 ,

->click on Search help radio button

->give a search help name , then Click on Create

-> a pop up will appear , choose 'Elementary search help'

->give ur master table name in ' Selection method '

->in 'Search help parameter name' specify ur field name on which u want to create Search help

->also click on import and export checkbox,

->specify LPOS and SPOS . Then press ENTER.

->you will get the Data element name of ur trasp table in the dataelement field.

Save,check,activate.

click Database Table:ZXXXXX.

click on Tab-Entry Help/Check ->Give Search Help name in Search help field.

Save, check n Activate.

Plse dont misguide. It is not Elementary Search help he/she is asking for. It is collective search help.

Follow the steps, but select Collective search help.

Hi !

I am sorry maybe I didnt make my question very clear. I want to create an elementry search help and that I have to add to DEBI (collective search help). I created one ESH which is a clone of DEBIX , but what I wanted to do is add additional two fields ie. LOCATION(street 5) and STR_SUPPL3(street 4).I just copied it from DEBIX which has the search help exit F4IF_SHLP_EXIT_CUSTOMER, but what this does is simply does what it does for seach help DEBIX, I wnat my two new fields added to it which it dosent add in the pop up screen when I run it , though the two columns (new) is displayed in the output but without any values. I wnat to know wheteher I shld be using the same exit or some another one or shld I be using a new database view toi accomplish this. Plz advice as its just a copy of DEBIX with addition of two fields which I need in my help.
