There are instances where SE38 would hang. Per my experience, here are some:
1) view main program, double-click on a procedure
2) click activate button
3) saving
The weird thing is, this only started last week. I've tried to login from a different PC, but I would experience same. Tried to re-install SAPGui, but to no avail.
Am using SAPGUI for Java 7.10 rev 6
Linux version
User authorization: sap_all, sap_new, s_abap_all.
Has anyone encountered same problem as mine?
Thanks for any help....

Seems your 'where-used-lists' need updating. Check whether the jobs EU_PUT and EU_REORG are scheduled daily (tx. SM37) and check they run successfully and in a very short time - if they don't: search OSS, there's a couple of notes covering problems with those two.
