tomasz.piwowarski,
Recommend you to do the following checks:
1) Your new assigned data element must be provided with proper field labels along with right length assigned. This step is crucial. Ensure you have activated the data element.
2) Once the data element is assigned all the values of that particular are also subject to get affected, hence after activating the table you must also reach out to T-Code SE14 and proceed with "Adjust and Activate" option.
3) Now while view the field in SE16N adjust the length of the column by manually extending it by dragging. You column name must get adjusted based in the field labels maintained.
Let us know if still issue persists.
Regards!

What did you change exactly? Just descriptions, or at least descriptions? which descriptions did you change (there are 'six description' fields in total: short text, documentation, short, medium, long, heading). Did you activate the data element? Did you restart SE16N after activation of the changes?
Please be more specific in what you changed and what you observed and what you expect to happen and show screenshots of that.
Maybe you didnt change all the descriptions and depending on your settings and screen as well as column display size in SE16N it is showing the description of e.g. "medium" and in SQVI it is showing the description of "heading"?
