Hi,
The table has to be adjusted only when the fields are altered.

Hi Salil Vidya,
Whenever you have data in a table and alter the primary key fields in the table. we need to adjust the table at the Database level. because when you try to activate the table after altering the key fields in a table. an error message or inactive state is maintained. so when you run the SE14 for the table after modifying the key fields. the table is adjusted at the database level and the table is activated.
Hope information shall be useful.

Hi ,
The database utility is the interface between the ABAP Dictionary and the relational database underlying the R/3 System. The database utility allows you to edit (create, delete and adjust to changes to their definition in the ABAP Dictionary) database objects derived from objects of the ABAP Dictionary.
You can call the database utility from the initial screen of the ABAP Dictionary with Utilities ® Database utility (Transaction SE14). The initial screen for the database utility appears.
You can use the database utility to edit all the database objects that are generated from objects of the ABAP Dictionary. These are database tables that are generated from transparent tables or physical table pools or table clusters, indexes, database views.
You go directly to this screen from the maintenance screen of the object in the ABAP Dictionary with Utilities --- Database utility.

Radhika.

If you delete any table entries you don't require to adjust the data base. when ever changes to the data base with respect to fields are made utilities are adjusted.
If any table is altered and activated and that table is used in the view then the changes are not correct in the view unless the table is adjusted using SE14.
Hope this Helps you.
