Dear Guys

I am using transaction SARA to archive data and have successfully archived the Purchase Requisitions. Now when I go for deleting the archived data it asks for Archive Selection. When I selects this button I got the message that no data available.

Whats the procedure for selecting archive selection while deleting or retreaving arvhive fiels.

Thnx

Hi Adnan,

Using the write program, which you have given that you have successfully archived the data, see the log of the program, and note the session no. and file name details of the archived file.

Now, when you try to delete the data, you select the same session no.

Possiblity for not being able to select during deletion:

1) File would have been used for deletion by somebody else already

2) In AOBJ, transaction for the particular object, go to the option, customizing settings -> check under the tab 'delete jobs' if the delete job is scheduled automatically or after any event.

3)Check if the write program is run in 'Test mode'( I guess archive file will not be created in this case).

Vishnu Priya

Hi Adnan,

In AOBJ tcode>customizing settings>settings for delete program, check the variant of the delete program production mode variant and see if the variant is given correctly ( I mean it is not run in test mode option)

Hello Adnan,

Check the Archiving object-specific Customizing: Technical Settings. See what is selected in the section for File storage to storage system. If the "Store before delete" is selected, the archive files will not be available for deletion until after the store jobs have successfully completed.

Hi Adnan,

From the mail trails, i collect that you are running archive and delete job, but still the PR you want to delete exists in the database?

PRs can be archived if it meets certain criteria, unless which it cannot be archived and deleted. Please have a look at SAP note 401318 which gives the archivability criteria for purchasing docs.

Prior to this... i assume you have carried out all the required customizing and maintained proper residence time?

Naveen

Hi Adnan,

Have you managed to solve this problem? If not - do check if the archive write variant is in the prod mode. Also check if the PR meets the archivability criterion!

Thanks
