'SAPGUI_PROGRESS_INDICATOR' on entire screen

Hi All

I'm running a report with lots of progress indicators e.g. 'FTP Connecting to Server', 'FTP GET file ...', 'FTP CLOSE', 'Processing file ...' etc. It is intuitive and helpful, but I'd like a modal popup screen that continuously scrolls the messages. It would be pretty useful if the user can look at the job as a whole and not just one message at a time.

Does SAP provide a class/function module that already provides this functionality? Is it possible?

if you search function modules (SE37) with PROGRESS, you'll find several.

I don't think Breakpoint was trying to give you a solution - just point you in the right direction.

Bear in mind that responders do not have to help. We are all volunteers.

If searching through SE37 and searching the internet provide no solution, you can assume that you will have to do it yourself.

Please update the forum when you do solve this.

Thank you Rob. And I'll definitely post a solution if I find one; I always do. I've had some amazing assistance from SDN users and always try to 'give back', but my motto remains 'no feedback is better than gibberish'

Thank you for your kind words, Adrian. You're so gracious.

Perhaps if you wait a little longer, someone will write a block of code for you, demonstrating how to repetitively calculate some degree of completion and call a specific FM, and you can copy and paste.

But, that will limit you to their little solution, won't it? Personally, I can't deal with that. I have to know that I researched what was available and found the best solution, or the solution my users like better than the rest, and that I have not replicated some crude, inefficient junk code handed down through a variety of copy-and-paste practitioners. But, I seem to be one strange duck. Maybe that's why, after 40 years, I'm still employed in IT?
