Dear All,  

Please help me in the following... As i have created the request for a smartform .

I have edited the form and moved to quality they asked some changes....

before doing the changes i have taken a copy of it

now the changes to be removed but i have done some mistake and removed other... I am unable to recover it to previous stage

can any one please help me to replace the smartform with the copy in the same request

Hi Vikas,

     you can download the smartforms from Quality, open the smartforms in Quality goto Utility -> Download form and save it to local disk..

then, login to development and open smartforms in change mode Utility -> Upload and save the forms

that's all..

Activate the form..

I hope no problem, You already took the back of smart form,

You have to Create one more smart form with the backup smart form.

Go to  smartform ->utitlies and download form.one more smart form will be created,

Now in driver program you have to  give the new form name. just change the form name

no other changes are required.

Hi Vikas,

In continuation to NewB's reply, if you require a new form with the same output as your old smartform (before changes); then, do it exactly as NewB suggested.

In case, you require the LIVE smartform to be restored as it was before making the changes.

Then, in your Development Server,

1. go to SMARTFORMS

2. open your COPY Smartform (copy made before changes) in Display mode

3. Utilities -> Download

4. choose path to save the backup on PC

5. open you LIVE smartform (with unwanted changes) in Change mode

6. Utilities -> Upload

7. choose the *.XML file you saved in step 4

8. save & activate the LIVE Smartform

**The below method is not advised because of high chances of error in judgement and possibility of losing both the smartforms (LIVE & COPY).**

There can be one more way but before trying that I suggest you to follow above steps 1 to 4. So that, you at least have backups of your smartforms in your PC.

1. copy the name of your LIVE Smartform (with unwanted changes)

2. delete the Smartform

3. rename your COPY Smartfom to the name copied above

4. save & Activate

your COPY Smartform will become your LIVE Smartform

NOTE: in this case make sure that you save the delete of smartform in the same TR as your COPY Smartform. By doing this, as the TR is transported the complete process of deleting old smartform & naming of copy smartform to old smartform will happen at the same update cycle. So there will be less chances of error. In case, your require to send this in different TRs then send the delete TR before the renaming TR.
