SAP package names

Hello,

I need to create an se80 package - this is as an SAP product so I wont be starting the name with T or Y or Z. My concern is who do I contact so I don't pick a package name that may be used by a different SAP component.

All SAP products already have a package.  How are you getting an SAP product that doesn't come in a note / support package / transport?

Thanks for the quick reply...

We were acquired by SAP so our namespace has been and currently
is /FLDQ/<packagename> and now we are looking to ship HANA transport
containers as part of our package but HANA studio doesn’t allow you to create a
HANA transport request that has a namespace – it forces you to put the
namespace in front of your HANA delivery unit name and forward slashes are not
allowed in the delivery unit name so were screwed until they fix this. So for
now we are going to have to create a new package name just to insert our HANA
transport containers and I’m concerned about using one that already exists. Say
I’m developing on a ECC system how do I know the package names on a CRM system
or package names associated with Financial or MDG, MDM …?

Hello,

Just provide any meaning full name according to your work and after creating it try to activate it. If will automatically inform you whether this is already used or not.
