SAP Merger

Hello Folks,

I have recently come across a req where comp A bought comp B and both run on SAP. As part of security resource we were asked to use best practises to merge security.

I don't know if both companies use the same version of SAP but the more i think the more complicated it gets.

Can somebody please direct me to some good documentation?

Thanks in advance.

This appears like like a very intensive work that requires clear understanding and focus. There are few questions you need to ask before commencing the work:

You need to know if both companies are running the same SAP version. How are the roles set up in each company, are they using derived roles, single roles, composite roles? You may also need to change the naming convention and use ORG level to sectionize each division.

I have done this before and it was very intense though successful.

I'm concerned about how the business processes owners will react to this situation. Technically there are a lot of other things that can freak me out right now.

I'm looking at a time frame of 3months even if they are on the same version of SAP.

Is this a feasible solution?
