I am a PS guy. I want to know about Exception Reports. What exactly is an Exception Report? Is this a customized report?

Thanks for the links...it helped me a lot. I have also gone through sap help files.

Now I need to develop an exception report from standard sap report where I will define exceptions for a particular column.

Let me try this. If anybody of you have done it before can you give me the steps...

in SAP there r some reports which are information reports like S_ALR_87013019. Normally these starts with S....the cost reports

There are other functional reports like ME2M,ME2B,CN50Netc which are also SAP standards.But these reports have a different functionality and tool bar is also different.

To be specific in reports like starting with S_ALR_u can raise exceptions/create exceptions unlike the other reports.

Why is this so? I want to create an exception in ME2B but unable...plz help

Only in drill down reports Report painter I can generate exceptions.

Can I do this from transaction reports like ME2B etc.
