roles and authorizations

Hi guys,

Iam new to basis.can ony send me the step by step how to create roles and profiles and assign the user to roles.

Hi Kumar,

Use Tcode PFCG and specify the role for which you want to add the tcode.

then go to MENU tab

choose TRANSACTION tab

a screen will appear then specify the tcode which you want add to that role and choose ASSIGN TRANSACTION tab then it takes you to the initial screen of pfcg choose AUTHORIZATION tab choose EXPERT MODE then it will display the authorizations for that particular tcode like authorization object and activity value etc select according to your scenarion then SAVE and GENERATE.

Follow the steps to add the Tcode to the role.

1. Go to PFCG in development system.

2. Put Role Name in the place of the Role

3. Clcik on New role (blank paper Icon).

4.There would be various Tabs like Description, Menu,Authorizations etc..

In the Description tab you can enter Description and save.

Go to MENU tab.

5. You would see a button called TRANSACTION

6. Click and enter the Tcode ther in the Pop up Box and hit Assign Transaction Button.

7.Then the Tcode would get assigned to the Menu tab.

Click on Authorization tab. You will three options click on expert mode

In the next screen you will be prompted with list of objects

8. Assign values as per the rquirements and Generate the Role (check if all the Tabs in Green colour)

9. Generate and come out of the role

10 . Either you can assign user in the user tab or in SU01 you can assing this role.

If you assing user in PFCG user menu Perfrom a User comparision.

11. If you want to move the role to Quality or production, transport the role.
