RFC System Fields

Hi,

We have RFC function module which is getting called three ways.

1. Directly from SAP

2. From other SAP system using RFC destination

3. From non-SAP application.

In function module, how can I distinguish that it's called from either of above way. Is there any system field or other by which we can distingusih?

Please help.

Hi!

If someone is sing an FM with RFC, it is necessary to log into the destination SAP system using an RFC ready system user. While if the FM was called from the SAP, the user will be a "normal" user.

The third party applications have to use the RFC ready system users as well.

If you wanted to make difference between the remote SAP and the remote third party application's calling, you might try to add a parameter to the RFC FM. An IMPORTING parameter like CALLER_SYSTEM, and the caller systems have to set an identifier here, like "SAP", etc...

Hi Ajit,

I was unable to get any such parameter in an RFC call.

Though you can find the username used to make the call.

So option A could be to use separate RFC sonnections with different users from different systems.

Or option B could be to pas an additional importing parameter to identify the systems.

Option B is logically more consistent and easier to maintain.
