Can u suggest me the advantages of using ALV in creating a report.

And in addition to all those, we can have some columns in the ALV report which can act as links to other transactions (underlined in blue).

Once we click on for eg. a material number in the ALV output list, it will take us to a relevant transaction like mm03.

Can u suggest me the advantages of using ALV in creating a report.

Hello,

You have much more flexibilities like sorting, summing, visible / invisible fileds .. etc. with less coding.

Hi ,

Some advantages of ALV are

1. Predefine SAP standard display variants.

2. Dynamic List Sorting

3. Set filter based on certain criteria.

4. Dynamic calculation of totals and subtotals in one or more chosen columns in a list.

5. Report List displayed can be downloaded into an Excel sheet in any format.

6. Call Backs for Adding Processing. A calling program from the point of view of the ALV is an external perform into the calling program.
