Hi,
How to create background job scheduling for a Report.What im doin is im creating tcode for the report,is it correct?when im creating tcode .after creating that im trying to excute the tcode again it will come to the initial sceen of tcode?where is the problem and pls let me know

goto sm36
give some job name
click start conditions
click date time give values and save
click step
give report name.......and variant if u hav...
save
come back
now save the job..........ull get a msg
goto sm37 gine ur job name and execute.........
to view the result check ur job and click spool button
now click the rpt icon next to spool no.......

Hi Rama,
You can create a background job for a report from SM36. No need of creating a transaction code for it for background scheduling.

After putting this question i tried it.But i hve some doubts on se36 that.IM giving job name anything(like programme) .it is accepting that abap programme or extenedede or external.i selected abap programme .then it was created .Then how can i check whether it is working proper or not?pls let me know

Click on the Job Overview button in aplicaton toolbar or goto SM37.

Hi WILL,
The procedure which u let jst now.I followed with same but after selecting my job and click spool and i get a message that "no list is available".How can i find my records pls let me know i gave points also

means no output available for ur report
will ur rpt give any list output when it runs online............?
also see if the job is finished

Create a Variant for the Program and
Schedule JOB in background:
Go to SM36 create a Job
enter Program and Variant for that program in STEP..
click on Start Condition
Click on DATE and TIME enter date scheduled Start and END times
click on Period Values
Click on HOURLY/WEEKLY etc
CLick on RESTRICTIONS also to use further criteria.
so your job will be scheduled and run as per your requirement.
and in SM37 Transaction check the status of that JOB
