A repair is what the name suggests, it is a repair to the standard SAP code. You try to change something that is SAP standard, then it will be classified as repair whereas development/correction is for your custom objects.

I brought to my R/3 DEV System a Z Program when I modify it the system consider my change as a Repair, depite I transported my change to PRD without problems I wonder, are there other considerations that I must keep in mind?

Hi,

It will not consider changes to the Z program as repair. Just check once as which all objects you have modified in this TR. Also is this Z program downloaded using OSS.

OK, that I missed. Yes, any program that is developed outside of your environment (all your developments will be assigned to a package which in turn is linked to a transport path and an original system) will be considered standard even if it is a Z program. It depends on how you brought the Z program into the system. If you brought it as a transport, then the original system of that program will be the external system where it was originally coded and the transport is created. Instead, if you simply upload the code using the upload/download feature, you will not encounter this issue.

If you have to use transport option, then you will have to change the original system of that object to your own system.

I have to use Transports, but which would be the consequences if I don't change the original system of the object to my own? Is it mandatory to do the change?

Hi,

No it is not mandatory. you can use the same transports. Many SAP authorised third parties provide their code in this way only.

The only issue will be that it will show up as a repair and every time you want to modify, it will ask for a repair transport request. If you are ok with it, then you don't have to change anything.
