You can change the existing program in the DEVELOPMENT and raise a transport request and release it to the production.

The existing program in PRODUCTION will be over written with the changes done.

You need not create a new report program. You can simply change or modify the existing program in DEV and release to PRD.

Hi

Create a new Report in DEV with the same name as of PRD report.

Develop it and assign the Transport request to it in DEV

when it is finished transport the request to PRD then the PRD report is completely over written by the new report code

How's this possible? Report exists both in PRD and Dev. The system won't let you name a report same as an existing one!!

Hi Line,

Delete the report in Dev system and create a new one also in Dev. Make sure both these actions are saved to the same transport request. Now release the transport request and migrate from Dev to QA finally to PRD (normal process). End result will be your old report will be deleted and the new one will be transported to PRD.

Hope this helps,

Cheers,

Sougata.

Hi,

Instead of removing, Make the changes in developement using same object and then Transport it.

else, Through SCC4 you can change the status of the client , changes allowed and then you can do it.

Reward if useful!

NO need to remove the report from the Production server ... normally no one agrees to delete/remove any of the object in the production because the servers are aduited by the company auditors ....

So the best thing is again start changing the program in the development server the same program in change mode in SE38 .. so that to save the latest changes it will again ask you the change request to save finaly activate it . so that you can release the new request and transport it ... so that in the production the old report will be over written by the new changes because of the transporting the same object(report) .... ..

reward points if it is usefull ...

Is there any problem if the object will be there in production without using, My concern is what happens if no one is using transported object ?

If you are sure that no one is using it, it always suggested to delete it from the PRD with necessary approvals.

But i suggest to change the existing program only with out deleting the old one.

And then transport the changed program to PRD with the changes.

Otherwise if you want it to remove it without doing the lastest changes ...

then Basis will delete the request object finetly in the tcode -> STMS_IMPORT .

Because there all the Objects are listed in any of the server ....

reward points if it is usefull ....
