Regarding Workflow

Hi Guys,

I am new to workflow, Havent done it before. I have requirment now like i need to do a work flow for Release strategy of Maintenance Notification & Maintenance order. I dont know how to proceed. Can any one guide me with step by step procedure so that i can sucessfully do this workflow. If anyone can help me regarding this. I will be grateful to you and will have a chance to learn workflow as well.

First u need to find the Businness Object thru the tcode:-SWO1.. Which transaction has to trigger the work flow..?

Hi Praveena,

I found the object in SWO1. Its BUS2007 and i found like i can use standard template WS20000014. Now can u give me general idea how should i proceed and how will this work flow get triggered when a production order is created?

can u pls provide ur transaction code for production order create ? Is this standard wf is getting triggered for the tcode ?

Tell me the requirement clearly... After creating the Production order wat u need to do ?I hope u have to send notification to the roles specified...

If so u need to determine the role by using a Z-table. Did they specify any Z-table which contains roles? Did they specify the fields in the Z-table... Here the Z-table is called as Routing table which determines the roles..

After determining the roles we can send the notifiaction..? what type of notification they want ?

Oh Thank you very much for your immediate response praveena. Your right i must be more clear in what i am doing. Since its bit new to me i was not able to collect all the information what you ask me. I am woundering why the functional guy didnt explain me such things. I just got a mail from him that a work flow needs to be developed for release statergy of maintenance order and maintenance notification.

let me clearly talk with him and get back to you. Please help me in this as your doing now. I will get back to you once i ask all the doubts to him. Can i have your mail id pls. So that i can mail you when my requirment regarding this work flow.

Hi Satish,

Its ok.. No problem.. I am doing second object in workflow.. I am not expert in that.. First object will take some time but dont be tensed . Ask clearly to the Functional every thing and then u draw the flow of workflow template on a paper according to the requirement. Show it to the functional .once he accepts then u can proceed... I dont have access to public domains... give ur company ID.. i will send the test mail..
