regarding shipment number range

Hi Experts,

In the shipment(VT01n) exit ,V56UNUMB ,

i am proposing the number that is to be generated.

It is triggered while saving the shipment.

After saving it is giving the message some XXXX shipment is saved.

But if i check that shipment number in table or through VT03n it is saying no shipment exists.

Please help me what is the reason for this?Can i pass the shipment number like that
