hi,

Pls send me the difference between file get name path and file_open_dialog.

Also when bapi returns the error message how to find out for which doc item the error is displayed and how to capture

as the requirment is to display the item and corr esponding err in the classicl report

the file open dialogue is used to get the file name from presentation server.

and check the documentation of file_get_name. there is a very good documentation given got this FM in the FM documentation..

this is for logical file name mapping to physical system file names..

and all BAPI's have their own return tables, check which particular BAPI you are talking about
