regarding field label

Hi all,

i have an alv report which displays some fields, and i need to change the field label of one of those fields.

in the output the field label is taken as a 'short' from the data element, can we make the medium or long or heading as default label in the output, if so how

Hi,

For fields with Data Dictionary reference, the system automatically adopts the field labels of the corresponding data element. The texts for the short, medium and long field labels as well as for the header are copied into the fields SCRTEXT_S , SCRTEXT_M , SCRTEXT_L and REPTEXT of the field catalog.

ya i knew that, but i am using the function module REUSE_ALV_FIELDCATALOG_MERGE to populate the fieldcat, m not doing that manually

is it possible to change the label for just one field
