Hi
You can create the data element but you will not be able to activate it,
As a result you cannot use it anywhere else.
Hope this helps.

Instead of creating domain , u can create a built-in type
check out the data element screen , u can find elementary types and reference types

examples of Built-in types are char , int4 , curr ,cuky
goto datatype tab of dataelement screen , select the radio button built-in type and check the F4 help for that field

Hi raja,
1. When creating a data element using se11,
2. The default option (radiobutton)
is DOMAIN
3. Instead we can select "PREDEFINED TYPE"
4. as soon as we do that,
a new entry field will come up for DATA TYPE
where can select using F4
eg. NUMC, CHAR,DEC etc.

Hi
You can define Built in type by going to the Data Element Create Screen and clicking on the radio button for Built in type
e.g
CHAR
NUMC
and you can give the length for the data element.

Hi,
When creating a Data element..
1) Elementary type
a) u can use an existing domain or a custom domain of ur own
b) use a built in type (data type), u can get them by using F4
2) Reference type:
a) U can use an existing or custom defined value here...
i) It accepts a class or interface
ii) Table types or line types, structures in the data dictionary
iii) Data elements ..
b) Predefind data types available, same as the above case..
Hope this adds to the existing solutions
Thanks

hi,
You can create a table without data element but not without a Domain.
Domain must be created as its the technical attribute, where-as Data element is a symantic attribute. So its possible to create a table without the data element.
Its possible to create data element without a domain practically, but it wont work as domain is necessary.

Hi,
You Can Create a table without Data-Element and Domain.
No you cannot create a table with internal table as reference, u can use structures as reference.
Cheers...
