reading large files through dataset

Hi

we have a requirement of reading file from application server and post data into database tables. Here file comes from BW system and volume is quite higher ( around 500MB). Can any help me how to read this file and post message into ztables.

Till now I can see two options

1. using dataset

2. BDC

but not sure what extent internal table hold data at runtime.

Kindly suggest

1) try to find out the structure of data in the file

2) create an input-structure in your program or with se11

3) process file with open/read dataset
