Hello all,
I have the following requirements which i am finding difficult to implement. Can you kindly suggest me if there is any way to do it:
1. Please let me know how i can fit the ALV grid to the monitor size of the user. That is The grids should be layered and expanded to the full width of the users monitor.
2. Provide the option for the user to change the layout and save the layout chagnes as a standard option in ALV tool bar.
3. Display the ALV-GRID withe stripped pattern by default.
I am using OO ALV. Any inputs would be very helpful.

Hi Naveen,
1. Create a container which fits the screen size else use REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY
2. I_SAVE = 'A'
3. Pass IS_LAYOUT-ZEBRA = 'X' to the IS_LAYOUT import field
Thanks,
Best regards,

Hi Prashanth,
Thanks the last two questions are resolved. However for the first requirement here is my further inputs:
1. The custom container on the screen is made to fit the max size properly so it covers the entire screen as expected. However when I change the resolution of my screen ( pixel resolution increase or decrease from properties on right click on task bar) and execute the application this time the ALV does not fit the entire screen if the screen resolution is increased. Instead it only covers half the screen and scroll bar is provided. How do i ensure that if the resolution is varied the length gets adjusted automatically.

Hi Naveen,
Well i checked this with standard ALV programs - BCALV* but even those programs are behaving in the same way i.e. after changing the screen size, the ALV is not displayed full screen. Looks like this is a limitation.. wl check if there is any workaround.
Thanks,

Hi Prashanth,
Thanks a lot for the inputs. Meanwhile i changed the coding and set the parameter I_SAVE = 'A'. However i still dont get the option to save the layout. The problem is as explained:
In the ALV grid i find the button ( i am not able to paste the picture ) on click of which i am able to change the layout i.e., the coloumns displayed, hidden however i dont have the option to save this changed layout. How do i acheive this? Setting the parameter does not provide any means of acheiving it. Am i missing something here?

Hi Naveen,
Check if you are passing the ICON name under EXCLUDING parameter .. IT_EXCLUDING...
If not, then pass :
I_BYPASSING_BUFFER = 'X'.if this doesnt work.. thn change it back to blank.. & pass
I_BUFFER_ACTIVE = 'X'.Thanks,
Best regards,

Hi Prashanth,
I tried both the ways still i am not getting the icon to save the layout changed. There is a importing structure 'IS_VARIANT' has this got anything to do with the requirement?
