Problems with code autocompletion

Hello

I find new ABAP editor very useful. After installing at office it started working properly without any special configuration. Unfortunately on two other machines (also XP, the same version of SAPGUI, configuration etc.) autocompletion and code expanding doesn't work. It displays suggested piece of code, but when enter is pressed (this is how it works at office) I get just new line. Default key combination (ctrl - enter) doesn't work either. Anyone has any suggestion how to make it work?

best regards

Maciej Gottfried

I have the same problem, when you hit enter on the suggestion, the cursor just goes to the next line. In Gui 6.40 sp23 it worked fine, but when I went to gui 7.10, it stopped working, and the SP for gui 710 didn't help either.

It brings me one idea... At office I first had 6.40, then upgraded it. Not working instalations are "pure" 7.10. Maybe some settings are incorrect in 7.10 and during upgrade they stay from 6.40? I'll have to try 6.40 + upgrade on some fresh system.

In the new version, you have to use TAB instead of ENTER.

It might help other people: in SAPGUI 7.10 SP13, I can make it work with both TAB and ENTER 😄

Yep, I know but I still have a problem with it (I'll check it later on my other computer which SP is installed, and I'll check whether it works with TAB), and a colleague of mine just told me he had the problem too (in 7.10, but I couldn't know th SP). Maybe some people could be interested by this "info".

Why not. I am facing problem with double click in the new debugger as well. It just doesn't navigate at all. I will really appreciate if someone can provide a solution for this.

Really never? Sometimes, it doesn't work because the where-used index has not been rebuilt (usually with SAP standard programs, from time to time with custom programs). You may rebuild it manually from SE38 menu (utilities, update navigation index) or from SE80 navigation tree (other functions, rebuild object list).

By the way, I tried code auto completion with my SAPGUI 7.10 SP 7 : TAB works! (but not ENTER as I said). Thanks Céline. Rob, yes I know, it was in 2009

that's only 3 years. One next time, I'll try to break the record, what is it? 😄

You would have to search the forum for that.
