Problem with RFC call between different clients. Plesae help!

Hi Experts,

I have a RFC enabled function module in one SAP instance 'A' where the client is 130. I am trying to call this function module from another SAP systen 'N' where client is 220. RFC destination has been set in 'N' system.

The RFC functin module pulls data fromm a custom table. For a given input it is puuling data in 'A' system.

But when I call it from 'N' system with the same input it is not pulling the data.

I feel the problem is with teh different clients.

please help me how to resolve this.

Is there any setting in RFC destination?

Hi gopalkrishna,

1. Is there any setting in RFC destination

Ofcourse there is.

2. The tcode is sm59.

3. Where u have maintained in system 'N',

we have to specify

a) Server 'A'

<b> b) Client Number 130</b>

4. So while calling from N(220),

it will connect A(130)

and fetch data from A(130) only.

Hi,

Did you maintained the RFC destination , check it using <b>SM59</b> trnasaction.

Hi,

In the SM59 you specify the LOGON client also, right?

While logging on are you doing the in the same client.

Kindly check that user have required authorization. This user will be your 'A' system. For time being try SAP_ALL, SAP_NEW and then retest. If it worked that this is authorization issue.

Also pls let us know your setting in SM59 for this R/3 connection. Pls provide all the information you have maintained.

Also let us know what result you are getting after testing this RFC.

Hi,

As the RFC destination is defined in N system

it will try to fetch data from A system only.

Please check in N system whether data exist

in Z custom table for the given input.

I got the solution. My basis guy did not put the client number in the logon/security tab of the remote destination.

That is what exactly my post - to check the client number in the SM59 destination.
