Problem with enabling SAP Menu

Dear All,

Got a strange problem.

In IDES (ECC 6.0 SR2 on Win2k3+Oracle 10.2.0.2), we have disabled the SAP Menu by setting the SSM_CUST entry - SAP_MENU_OFF, to YES.

Afterwards, we reverted back the entry to the table.

The SSM_CUST now got the following entries:

CONDENSE_MENU NO

DELETE_DOUBLE_TCODES

IAC_SERVER_ADDRESS

INTERNET_MENU_OFF

NEW_WINDOW_MODE YES

RESIZE_IMAGE YES

SAP_MENU_OFF NO

SSM_MENU_SORT_ACTIVE YES

START_IMAGE

USE_TREE_CONTROL

Still the SAP menu is not getting enabled (even after log off/log on). Only the folder icon is appearing.

The user has got SAP_ALL / SAP_NEW auth.

Also, we found that:

1. when creating a role in pfcg, if we choose "From SAP Menu" button, nothing is showing there.

2. role menus are coming properly.

Any help please.

Thanks & Regards

Sudip

Did you have setting for USERS_SSM ..as far as I remember ...user specific setting takes precedence over the the system settings.

Also check setting in SSM2 t-code

THIS is NORMAL

Personal Menus will ONLY SHOW for users that are given roles that are build in the PFCG!!!

NOT for system roels like SAP_ALL as there is no menu in that role!

Just manualy enter a number of transactions and create your own menu in a role an than try again.

Hi,

It seems, I have not specified my problem properly.

01. In normal situation, when a new user gets created in SAP system, even without any auth., that user can view the SAP menu after log in through SAPGUI.

02. Afterwards, the SSM_CUST has been altered (SAP_MENU_OFF = YES) in the system.

03. And again, the setting reverted (SAP_MENU_OFF = NO).

04. Now, even the newly created users (along with the existing users) are not being able to see SAP Menu.

Hope I have been able to explain the situation.

Please help.

Thanks & Regards

> CONDENSE_MENU NO

> DELETE_DOUBLE_TCODES

> IAC_SERVER_ADDRESS

> INTERNET_MENU_OFF

> NEW_WINDOW_MODE YES

> RESIZE_IMAGE YES

> SAP_MENU_OFF NO

> SSM_MENU_SORT_ACTIVE YES

> START_IMAGE

> USE_TREE_CONTROL

Scan through transaction SESSION_MANAGER for these parameters to see how they are used.

Can the user (old and new?) still enter S000 in then okay code field?

Cheers,

Julius

Dear All,

I checked the tcode ssm2 as well as s000.

#01. SSM2

The output of ssm2 in IDES system shows:

Current Initial Menu:

S000 -

I checked another system, where the output of ssm2 is :

Current Initial Menu:

S000 - SAP R/3

#02. S000

When trying to enter s000 in the okey code field of the IDES server, it is saying

"Transaction S000 does not exist"

Whereas, when trying the above in the other system, the SAP menu is coming.

Also, in test #01 above, when I tried to set the initial menu, I did not get the entry S000 - SAP R/3, in the list of area menus.

It seems some problem with the area menu s000. How can I re configure the same again?

Please help.

Thanks & Regards

Hello Sudip,

in SE43 it is possible to transport area menus, also S000. So you could import S000 again from another system of your landscape....

Dear All,

Thanks for the help.

Apart from importing S000 I also got anaother way - S000_OLD.

In ssm2, I selected S000_OLD as the initial menu. It seems providing the same old SAP menu.

I will also import S000 from the other system if we get any problem with this menu.

Thanks once again for all your help.

With Regards

Sudip
