Problem connecting the back-end SAP system to eclipse

Hi,

I am trying to configure the secure network communication in ABAP back-end system to connect the system in Eclipse, but the settings won't stay in the properties after I hit ok. I read on one discussion here that this setting is not at all required to connect the system in eclipse(http://scn.sap.com/thread/3598957) but when I try to connect through eclipse I get the following error:

Logon to system failed (System does not support Eclipse-based ABAP Development Tools)

My Support package level in kernel information is 201 in SAP ECC 6.0( Refer the screenshot below).

I believe this package level is supported for the eclipse. Can you please advice what the problem is ?

Hi Sneha,

you need check the version of your basis stack. It needs SAP Kernel 7.20 and SAP BASIS 7.31/7.03 SP04 (i.e. 7.40 ...) or higher on the backend system.

Oh My Basis stack version is 7.0. I guess that is it...I won't be able to carry on with this version.
