Presentation server

Hi Experts,

Why user enter the data only through the Presentation server.

What is the need of conversion of OPEN SQL to NATIVE SQL. The Presentation server understands only the OPEN SQL, Why not we use the same language for the Database server...

Why Appliaction server is used as translator which converts the OPEN SQL to NAtive SQL and vice versa.

to make ABAP database independent SAP introduced OPEN SQL.

let suppose that if we use only the native SQL,every time we change the underlying database we have to change the ABAP code.
