Hi All,

Please let me know while creating a partner profile is it mandatory to provide the outbound message and inbound message. If it is mandatory, please give me the reason behind that?

Thanks in advance,

Sriram.

Hi Sriram;

The reason it is necessary is that it is the source of the definition for what you are trying to output, and where it is going or where it is coming from.

For example, if you want to send a purchase order to a supplier, the outbound message defines the message type and IDoc type for the output. Without that, there would be no definition of what the output should look like.

In short, they relate the business rules to the output of the message. Without it, the business document will not have any framework for creating the output.

Cheers,

John
