Can I set a Parameter in a report as a password field?

Yes, you can, here's how.

report zrich_0001.


parameters: p_pass(20) type c.

at selection-screen output.

  loop at screen.
    if screen-name = 'P_PASS'.
      screen-invisible = '1'.
      modify screen.
    endif.
  endloop.

You can also try with a function G_CHECK_PASSWORD ...
