Output type dissapeared after saving.

Dear All,

I have a strange issue i.e, in ME22N --> Messages, i maintained output type for email, after creating once i save the PO and come back to messages, the output type for email is dissapeared.

Please suggest me the solution.

Hi,

first check if there is a dump --> ST22

or a background update failed --> SM13

or something in the database --> SM21

after you could try to put a trace ST05

at the end, ask God

I tried with all the steps, no logs.For trace i am not authorized.

Most of the time, when output type disappears, it's because there is a big error and all the process update is stopped. You could try to change a text in your PO and add the message to test it.

there is also the possibility to put break point on Update debug, and after on message type A or RAISE

It is happening only to email output type, for other output types like print, fax its working fine.

did you try with output type 8 ?

did you try to ask no process at saved, process with specific transaction and process it with ME9F trans ?

For process with specific transaction it is saving, but we have to use send immediately.

I found that NAST table is not updating for output type email, updating for other output types,

It's just for a test, when you use ME9F you are not in background update task, so you will be able to see error / abord ....

Hi Sandeep,

Just try removing the output type and maintain it again. Also while maintaining compare the email output type with other output types for possible differences.

Please let us know on the result.

I did, its getting deleted, again i inserted and saved... disappearing .

Do we need to give "Number of Messages" as 0 in communication method.

for me its not accepting if i gave "0".

I resolved myself !!

While troubleshooting found the issue, Its because of one more Config Step on Email Server set up is required, need to activate the Node for the SMTP server . Since its not yet activated, system was not able to create a Message type for the Operation Email. Due to that the Message type for the Operation [ZZNE] is not stored for any PO and it got disappeared.

Now i have corrected the setup and tested it by creating a New PO in DEV 130, the Email got triggered, I can view them on SOST
