Hi,
check the Port for the idoc ..
catch the idoc number and go to table --edidc and enter idoc number and execute...
see the Port and Partner profile..
check the port in We21 and partner in we20 and ..
there is a syntax check in we20 select the message type and check the syntax,,,it will show the exact problem..

thanks for ur reply but everything is fine there....
if ur message type is more than 6 char then there is a fm IDOC_GET_SHORT_NAMES which checks whether there is any short name exist for that message type in table/view EDI_CNVMES or not. If it doesnt exist then this conversion errors appears.
Now the question is how to maintain that table EDI_CNVMES..... is there any transaction code to maintain that?
can anybody help me on that.
Thanks,
Biswajit.

Hi,
Check the port version at transaction WE21. Switching it to "IDoc record types SAP Release 4.x" commonly resolves EA694 error.
Cheers,
