What should be the correct package size, given the number of rows in the table and its width?

The question is related to the appearance of the error: "SQL message: ORA-01555: snapshot too old". If fetch line by line, will it be better?

There is no definitive answer. It depends on too many variables. If a package size of 100'000 is too big, try 10'000 etc.

That usually happens because the table is updated at the same time by another process which updates a lot and commits rarely. Try to find out what job was running at the same time.
