Obsolete function TABLE_COMPRESS

Hi SDNers,

I'm involving in an upgrade project from 4.6C to ECC 6.0. So, I'm looking for a replacement to function module 'TABLE_COMPRESS'. According to RODIR table, this fm became obsolete in ECC 6.0.

Pls, if anyone can suggest me any alternative.

I am not sure but u can try the methods of class CL_ABAP_GZIP .

Thanks for your answers. According to the documentation and RODIR table this is an obsolete fm. Anyways, it's true that SAP continues using it. So, I guess if I don't replace it, it will be alright.
