Instead of declaring the parameter with NO-DISPLAY option, display the Parameter as a Normal Field.
In the event at selection-screen output. Write code to Hide the Parameter.
In this way you will see the parameter in the Variant and also the parameter will not appear on your selection screen

Go to transaction SE38. There, fill the program name, and flag 'Variants'.
Than choose change, choose the variant you want to maintain. All fields are displayed, also the hidden ones.
