New Debugger not activated problem after running tcode ME42 for Request for Quotation

Hi experts,

I want to debug the subroutine pool program YBAA_FM06P attached see code file.First thing  I  set  a break session on the program and then try running tcode ME42,  Input RFQ->Select print->Choose the output ->click save The new debugger is not activated nor triggered,instead the execution outputs the smartform via email.  I have a attached the code for my customised smart print program YBAA_FM06P and the NACE settings.Please see if necessary.What could be the problem?Am i debugging the wrong way?Please help?

in the new debugger choose debugger setting check update debugging save.

Now when you trigger the output  do /h and execute.

when debugger opens up. press F8. current session will close and a new debugger seeion will open. press F8 and code debugger will stop at the set break point. I assume the in nace setting timing is set to immidiate. other you need to excute RSNAST00 report to trigger the output

Well Kumar i did follow your steps but the program still cannot stop at the breakpoints that i set.I have tried to test debugging with tcode like VA01 and its working ok.I  notice the driver program in VA01 is a report but for ME42 is a subroutine pool,could that be the reason?If that so how do I go about?

Did you check your nace settings? Is the output type / access sequence set to trigger immediately?

Hi,

   You have configured your print program for External send(Email will be sent)NAST-NACHA = '5', it will be triggered in background. that is the reason it is not stopping in debugger even if u keep the break point. The output can be seen in the SP01 transaction after executing.

If you want to debugg the output types of External Send, place a infinite loop in your subroutine. Issue the output from ME42, got to SM50 transaction, identify the program 'SAPMM06E' or your it will be your Subroutine program name 'YBAA_FM06P', select that row, from Menu use this path

Administration>Program>Debugging, it will take you to your subroutine where you kept the infine loop, come out of that loop and process further in debugger. Just be careful to remove the infinite loop after you done the required changes.

example of infine loop

DATA : lv_num TYPE i VALUE '3'.

DO.

IF lv_num = '0'.   " Set the lv_num value = 0 in debugger, so that it come out of it.

EXIT.

ENDIF.

ENDDO.

Search for debugging in background in SCN, you will get many postings.

Hi

ME42 --> Header---> Messages

Select Output Type

Select Further Data --> Set Dispatch Time to 1 Send with Periodically scheduled Jod Instead of send immediately and Save

And Then Execute RSNAST00 program

Enter Output type & Object Key(RFQ number with leading zeros if any)

It will stop at debug point

Hi Bala,

as you said the external send makes the execution be in background mode.I decided to try in the foreground to see if its still stops at the breakpoint.By using medium print output rather than External send this time but still not stopping at the breakpoints rather it prints the form.

Place break points in subroutine '/SMB40/FM06P' and Instead of issuing output, select print preview. it will stop at the break point.

Hi.

    Try with ME9A transaction, provide the Message type in Message data section and check, it will display list of documents configured for that output type, select any one and try.

I noticed ME9A works with PO and I am working with RFQs

Hi,

    You must have given Application = EF, that is the reason it is listing you Purchase Orders. For RFQs Application is EA.

Give the Application = EA in Message Data section. Click on execute.

Select any Record which it displays and click on Trial Printout button, it will stopat the break point which you kept. I have tested it, it is working.

Hi

     If you are setting break-point by clicking on the braek-point button , then just write break userid (your sap logon id) just before the line you wish to debug.

Hi,

If you are still facing this issue, try these steps.

1) Before finally saving, enter /H in command box and then save.

2) When u r in debuggin mode, click on Update Debugging from Menu options.

3) Then Press F5 for few lines

4) Now press F8, at this point control will go to the place where you have set your break point.

Hi Ibrahim,

trying to test the debugging by setting output to print the smartform.First NACE settings are as follows:

Step1

In my print program /SMB40/FM06P i have set as many breakpoints in the include of the subroutine  /SMB40/FM06P see below screen shot.

In ME42 I entered the RFQ-> click enter->click on the messages icon on the menu-> repeat output->enter /h in the command box,select the output and press save as shown below.

the program is in debug mode as shown below

I click on Update Debugging from Menu options and pressed enter.

Then Pressed F5 for few lines

Now as I pressed F8, the control stopped at the  Function me_update_document which is not debug point

when I pressed F8 again.It takes me back to the initial screen  with the message 'update debugging has been triggered'

I go to Sp01 the spool has been created as shown below.

As far as you can see none of my set breakpoints have been triggered.I would like the program to stop at my set break points,kindly help resolve...
