Multiple rows in one ALV cell

Hi,

We would like to build an ALV report that has multiple rows in one cell. Simple example:

Col 1 Col2 Col3

0010 Name1 UNAME1

0020 Name2 UNAME1

UNAME2

UNAME3

0030 Name 3 UNAME1

So in this case the cell in Column3 would have actually three "rows".

Is this possible and how? And if not, is there some kind of workaround that you could recommend for this kind of requirement.

Our ALV is based on class cl_salv_table.

PS: It seems like the formatting of this forum does not let me put the UNAME2 and UNAME3 under the column3

I don't think thats possible..

nearest you get is by inserting rows with same value in Col1 and Col2 and sorting on COl1 and Col2.

e.g.

Col 1 Col2 Col3

0010 Name1 UNAME1

0020 Name2 UNAME1

0020 Name2 UNAME2

0020 Name2 UNAME3

0030 Name 3 UNAME1

Sorting will suppress the output of values in subsequent rows in Col1 and Col2. Thats not perfect solution but can be considered as work around..

Actually we already thought about your solution, but it doesn't really meet the requirement, since then we will have multiple rows describing the same "item". And if the user decides to sort the ALV with some other column, the whole thing will kind of break down.
