Modification vs. Enhancements

Hi!

I'm working on internal guidelines for our ABAP-developers.

Unfortunatly I can't find the recommendations of SAP about modifications or enhancements.

Does anybody knows a link, if there recommendations about modifications/enhancements exist?

Hi,

You can check ABAP TAW12 course to get details about this subject. Enhancements can be done if business needs them. Modifications should only be done if business really need the change and no enhancement option available for this purpose.

go to se84 ---> enhancement and give package name

you will find user-exist or enjhancment which are provide by sap

Hi,

Enhancement can be done for ABAP dictionary- Table enhancement /Customer exits - Function module/screen exit/menu exists / Business transaction event and business add ins...and modification is done for non-registered/Assisted modification and user exists in SD module...
