You can use Version Management for this purpose.

Utilities --> Versions --> Version Management

Each and every version represent the changes done in each and every release

Hello Gopi,

Thank you for the suggestion, but this is not what we want to achieve. We want to keep track of that, what was done by the developers. And we wanted to do this with help of modification assistant.

Now developer can (if he wants to) generate a new version of a report, can we set up a system in such way, that new version of the report will be generated always ?

sorry for the late reply.

No You can not do it through Modifictaion Overview for Custom reports, unless and untill its an standard SAP program.

Might be there any standard functions which could help you, but am not sure of this.

And as i said the version management and the version comparision can help you know the changes done in any report. in the version management only you can find the version comparision based on the requests.

Gopi

If you got to the object directory entry for the program in transaction SE03 using the "Change Object Directory Entry" option and set the original system of the report to a value that is not your development system sysid, then changes to the program will be done through modification assistant.

you may have to add whatever system id you use to your transport routes so the changes can be transported to test / production.
