Hi Friends,

I need to mass update a single filed in MARA for some specific material numers ASAP.

I am in the initial screen of MM17. I selected the table as MARA and the filed name i need to update. Do I need to click execute directly? I did so and i got a warning message as follows

'Please note that many objects can be changed simultaneously in mass maintenance. When you save your changes, the system checks them for consistency. They then take immediate effect for all objects chosen. For this reason, please proceed carefully.' I was just wondering am i risking updating all materials in material master? I need to update only specific materials . Where can i specify this .

Hi,

after you confirm that message, system will drive you to to a new window where you can define the specific materials you will want to change.

If you followed these steps in word and spirit you need not worry

On the first screen select the table on first tab and then select field on second tab to change, click execute, on the next screen, based on the table you selected previously, you will get the fields for filtering the records to change. Here give the filter to restrict the change. Click execute to make changes

I need to update a set of materials . so I guess I should check the check box 'Do not create new data' and go to the other tab 'data reords to be changes'. Here I entered few materials to be changed as selection criteria and hit execute button.

i entered the valued in the particular filed to be updated , clicked on change field values icon and saved the changes. But i don't see 'Mass update' or any such button. Please advise if i am missing any of the important step
