Material Number search using Old material

Dear Experts,

I am working on 4.6C and I have a requirement from my client , the problem is when I am trying to search the Material Number by Old material number ( IN MM02 or MM03) , the system is not able to find the material number using this search help and not only old material number but none of the search criteria isn't working for the search help "Material Number by Old material number" bit it's working fine in the search help "Material Number/Material Description".

Is this a standard problem in 4.6C , because when I checked in ECC 6.0 it is working fine.

Also there is a exit in this search help , which I've tried to remove the exit and tried to search and still its the same result.

Could you please suggest me as how to go about this issue ? I am new to SAP and let me know if I need to provide any further information. Thanks !!

You can try searching sap marketplace fthere might be some SAP note related to your issue.

Hello Abhishek,

Thanks for your proposal towards the problem ,I found the solution.

There is a problem in the Data Base view u201CM_MAT1Au201D which is used in the Search Help MAT1A.

There are 2 fields in the tab u201CTable/Join Conditionsu201D which are wrong , which is a SAP error and I think there could be a Note released already for this error .

The 2nd and 4th fields in the second column (Field Name) should be MATNR instead of MANDT and that is the reason it is not able to pick the results.

I've tried it by using a Z view and it's coming up fine .. Thanks !!
