Material Master-Making Fields Mandatory

Dear all,

In transaction MM01,there are some standard mandatory fields like Base Unit of Measure,Division etc.

Can ayone tell me what if I want to make some more fields Mandatory that are currently not by SAP.

What do i have to do?

check the OMS9

in that select radio button for Required entry.

hi Rahul,

in OMS9

select field what u want to mandatory,

in there different types like in which transaction u want to put mandatory like in mm01 or mm02 etc.

as well as for which type of material u want mandatory,

like for only fert u want mandatory etc.

or for all types u want mandatory,

As per your requirement do the selection.

Can u also tell me in detail how to use this transaction for MM01.COZ WHEN I DOUBLE CLICK ON MM01 AND GO IN,when I click on fields in fields selection group,multiple values come,and suppose if i want only material type mandatory,then along with material type other fields will also become mandatory.

How to go about this then?

Hi,

In the screen for MM01 tcode where you put the fields ,change that field properties (when you double click on that field in layout editor you will properties window ) in the Program tab check Input field ( and write code for that field in PAI logic if you want to pass some message to the user when this field is initial ).
