Hi experts,

I had searched the forums but did not find a conclusive solution so i am posting the Question.

I had created a ztable. Maintained table generator then i created a T-code for the table . But when i am executing the t-code its giving me an error message maintain object or update function group. I checked my function group but its active actually i think the screen no which i am giving in table maintainenace generatoris not getting generated.

I tried to figure it out but couldn't .

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,

Pawan.

Hello Pawan,

Please check if you have created Transaction with Parameters. In Transaction maintainence also Tick check box for skip initial screen, under GUI support- select all and provide valid values in the table below for Name of the sceen fields and value.

How have your created the transaction for the table? When you try to edit the table contents through SM30, what happens?

Hi,

Please check in SE11 , that table maintenance is allowed! You can see it under Delivery and Maintenance.

Klaus

Hi Pawan,

your parameter transaction may have an additional error.

First let us check SM30. This standard transaction should know the table name, because you type it in.

Maybe there is a broken connection between table and function group. In this case you have to delete your TMG for the table and create it anew. Check 1st that your table is active in SE11.

Klaus

saprocks - you are not answering the questions I and Klaus are asking. Please read them carefully.

1. How have your created the transaction for the table?

2. Tell use the error message you get in SM30 exactly (text, id, number) ...

We've already established you get the same message through SM30 as your transaction, so we can ignore your transaction for the moment.

If you are not precise in your answers, then you make it harder to help you. I suspect Klaus has pinpointed the issue already.

Hi Klaus,

I had already Tried that i deleted my TMG . Made a new one with a new Function Group. But it showed me the same error.

There is one thing i will like to point out when i created my FG It Got activated . But after creating my TMG. When the Error was coming i checked that Fg again .

This time the screen which i had mentioned in my TMG was inactive and when i Tried to activate it it was giving a error. I even changed the screen no and gave a new one but still it didn't activate.

Pawan.

Hello Pawan,

Can you try to "regenerate" your TMG instead of just deleting & creating a new one?

Hi Pawan,

I'm a little bit confused. You said, you created a new function group for this table and it was correct before creating the TMG, bút it was incorrect (inactive screen) afterwards.

But the Function Group will be created automatically during TMG, if it is a new one.

Please delete TMG, delete new FG completeley and create TMG giving a new FG name and do not create it before. Maybe some includes will be missing otherwise!

Regards,

Klaus

Hi Matt ,

Thanks for your Reply

To answer your 1st Question

1. How have your created the transaction for the table?

I have created my Transaction for the table through se93. In that i selected 4 option that is transaction with parameter.

In that under transaction gave sm30.gave my viewname i.e table name and update i'e. X.

To answer your 2d Q

Tell use the error message you get in SM30 exactly

It is not a runtime error it is an error like a pop up which comes up when i go to sm30 and click on maintain.

The error is as i have mentioned earlier.
