Hi,
I am monitoring a tremendous table growth with our LTEX table (generic storage for ALV Extracts).
I analyzed the content with TAANA transaction and found that the vast majority of entries is created by reports SAPMKKS0 und RKO7CO88.
I found a report to delete the entries from LTEX, but there is no good docu.
My question is just: what are this LTEX table good for ?
I fear that I may effect business if I delete entries from this table.

this table is some thing related to database tables display variants. the information is stored in cluster.
if you don;t want display variants then you can delete. but i am still doubtful.

SAP Note Number: 557772 says:
If you use the ALV in the Web environment, the LTEX data table is accessed via an internal memory (cache) to enable quicker response times. This database table can become immense. You must therefore use a report to administer the entries in this table in order to delete old caches where necessary. You can use the BALVEXTR report to do this.
I dont use Web environment. Does that mean I can delete all entries regularly as there is no other way to access this table?

LTEX table holds reports and logs created mainly by month end closing. These reports and logs can be accessed by the schedule manager monitor even years after its creation.
SAP has a report (new version) Z_SCMA_DEL_DATA to delete logs from the schedule manager, it will delete as well the data kept in table LTEX.

Have a look at the Note 557772 - ALV-Extrakte: Verwaltungreport BALVEXTR verbessern. You can delete the ALV extracts.
