How can we write ABAP code in LSMW? I have a source field which is derived from another field. Is there any possibility of writing code to fetchin LSMW??? pls help.
I have two source fields which take constant values. How can i use these in "Maintain Fixed values" radiobutton? Can i avoid these two fields in the excel sheet whiel uploading when taken as cosntants??

Hi Shakir,
Yes we can code in LSMW as we are doing in ABAP editor but editor is like script editor.
first go to field maping and conversion rules, there is abutton on application toolbar named CHOOSE VARIANT select all check boxes.
now you will get potion for global data definition (header), sub routines(footer) and even you can manipulate the data coming from file.
just double click every editor to code.

Hi
We write our own code in LSMW 5th step
5. Maintain field mapping and conversion rules:
Here is the place where you can do coding, depending upon the code you have written or assignment you have done the values will get picked up from the file and get processed.

HI,
In the 5th Step, if you Double click on any Move statment under a field, i mean for each field you do the assignment in the 5th Step, then a MOVE command will appear under that field, Double click on that field, then a Line editor will open, there we normally write the code, so, whatever you want to code, you can do that code in the Line editor of that field

Hi...
In LSMW ABAP coding can be added in two ways.
1. ABAP coding - in step 5
2. User defined routines (subroutines) - These are reusable. created in Step 6

Hi
Goto the Tcode LSMW
Give your report name
At the 5th step that is <i><b>Maintain Field Mapping and Conversion Rules</b></i>
Press F8
Then after that select your field and on the tool bar you can see an option <i><b>Rule</b></i> from there you can apply some of conditions
For creating an LSMW check this
<b>LSMW:</b>
The LSM Workbench is an R/3-based tool that supports You when transferring data from non-SAP systems ("Legacy Systems") to R/3 once or periodically.
The tool supports conversion of data of the legacy system in a convenient way. The data can then be imported into the R/3 system via batch input, direct input, BAPIs or IDocs.
Furthermore, the LSM Workbench provides a recording function that allows to generate a "data migration object" in an entry or change transaction.
The main advantages of the LSM Workbench:
Part of R/3 and thus independent of individual platforms
A variety of technical possibilities of data conversion:
Data consistency due to standard import techniques:
Batch input
Direct input
BAPIs (Business Application Programming Interfaces)
IDocs (Intermediate Documents)
The import technique to be used in an individual case depends on the business object.
Generation of the conversion program on the basis of defined rules
Clear interactive process guide
Interface for data in spreadsheet format
Creation of data migration objects on the basis of recorded transactions
Charge-free for SAP customers and SAP partners
