Hi friends,

I am new to LSMW. I would like to know the use of inbound and outbound parameters while creating partner numbers. Is it compulsory to give those parameters? What does the Message type there mean? I'll be thankful if u could spare ur valuable time to make me clear with this concept.

Hi sharmila,

If you are usin IDoc method in LSMW its necessary to create a partner's profile else not.

for defining a partner's profile look at this link

As far as message type is concerned it defines that what type of idocs you are going to send in different application it would be different.

following are few message types

message type DESADV (Delivery: Shipping notification)

message type INVOIC (Invoice / billing document)

message type ORDRSP (Purchase order / order confirmation)

message type SYNCH (ALE: Dummy message type for determination of RFC destinations)

Hi Amit,

I am using IDoc for Pricing conditions master. I couldn't find any standard program for that. So, I've started using the IDoc with Msg type Cond_A and basic type Cond_A01 and specified that in Object attributes of LSMW. At this point, I got a msg window, informing to create Partner profile. So, I've created a partner profile but haven't maintained any msg types there. If there are extra fields, which we cudn't find in the IDoc structure, how to include and use that.I would also like to know, On what basis we are selecting a basic type for a message type.

Hi Sharmila,

Welcome to SDN.

If you are in 4.6c partner numbers will be generated automatically.Partner number is nothing Which controls the inbound and outbound processing of IDocs.

Message type indicates what you are going to transfer.It contains message semantics for eg,MATMAS for Material Master.

Iam doing lsmw direct input method to upload the material master data. I was stuck with erros. I created material by using basic data 1 and 2. Still i want to creat more views which follows after basic data view. here the error is "Plant does not exist to your material(which i created). error dianosis is we hafe to change the plant master data.. This plant data client provided to me. Development is very good and working fine like data reading and conversion. But the material number which i got by auto populated is not working to other views.... SO PLEASE GUIDE ME , WHERE I WAS STUCK? SINCE 2 WEEKS IAM ANALYSING, BUT NOT FOUND YET... IN MM03 only basic data is available,, why data not transfering to other views.....
