Hi Rajesh,
As I mentioned, I haven't worked with this transaction, so I cannot think of any alternatives. See if there are any normal function modules that can help you to create the appropriation request. You can then call that FM from a custom program. LSMW may not be the option.

Can you please explain what you meant by "not executing in background"? Is it throwing an error or is it just not doing what it is supposed to do?
I have not used this transaction, but the 'N' suffix indicates to me that it is one of the enjoy transactions. If that is true, yes, you will have problems with doing a call transaction for such transactions in the bacground. The reason is that all the enjoy transactions use controls and for the controls to work the program needs access to the desktop/GUI. Controls are created locally in the user's desktop. That is why the call transaction works in the foreground, but when you do it in the background, the program cannot create those controls as it no longer has access to the GUI.
Isn't there any alternative to this transaction like an Idoc or BAPI or something? Even if there is a older version of the transaction, that may work.

Thanks for updating us on this at the earliest.
However, I tried with IMA1 which is infact a browser for Appropriation Request. But again I believe that using IMA1 would not help in Records as it stops at the first screen and does not proceed futher with the recording.
Can you help us out in handling this issue which we are facing. As per my analysis, there are no standard program for this t-code (IMA1, IMA1N). Hope we get some inputs which would help us in completing our objective on this issue.
Thanks
Rajesh

Hi Rajesh!
From your first posting I thought, your execution is stopping, not your recording.
I had a short look at the transaction: there are just some popups, subscreens, tabstrips and tablecontrols - not easy, but in general possible.
Maybe this transaction contains a commit work after a selection (in first screen). For a batch recording that's the end, but you can try to record a CATT. Here a commit is not a stopping point (if marked).

Hi Rajesh!
There are transactions (really not often), where background execution is different to foreground. Maybe some popups come in addition / not any longer.
You get some error messages with 'no fields for dynpro xxx'. Have a look (with SE80 or screen painter), which dynpro this is. Maybe you can figure out, who to handle this and change your recording manually.
If not, just run your recording online. Take some additional computers when going live. To press 'enter', just put a 4- or 6-times folded piece of paper between the key and the keyboard frame.

Hi Rajesh,
Where is your data upload file stored? I hope you stored your data file in the PC. LSMW can access the file from front end pc only in foreground process. When you run LSMW in background you have to store your data file in the application server.
Good luck!!!
