Hi Kiran,
When you specify the file, below that you have a I/O field where you give name for that path(for example give L_PATH) and then save, it works fine.
Cheers...
Santosh.
P.S. Mark usefull answers.

I am trying to assign a file which is on frontend?? i don't know why we need to create a logical path for this?
santosh, its not working.

Hi krian...
If u r using direct input method in lsmw u have to specify the logical files for the flat file and the log file
If u go to 'FILE' transaction there u have to assing the logical file path ie., the path where the flat file is existing based on that u have to define the logical file .
same as this one u have to create on log file and fallow the same procedure.
I hope u will get it..

Kumar

When using the direct input method for MM01, i have specified a file on the front end presnation server(without creating logical file name and all), why is't working with classification direct input LSMW. i know that when you want to specify the file on Apllication server we have to give the logical file name.
any inputs on this??

friends this is happening only with classification.
Object 0130 Classificat
Method 0002 Direct Input
Program Name RCCLBI03
Program Type D Direct Input
any inputs? thanks a lot.

Hi...
You can define the logical path in transaction FILE.
Then u will not get any error..

Hi,
You should use transaction FILE to assign a path to a logical file name.
